Late on Wednesday evening fire crews were urgently dispatched to HMP Winchester following reports of a cell fire. The incident, which took place in the facility located on Romsey Road, prompted a swift response from firefighters.

Teams from the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service, including units from Winchester, Eastleigh, and St Mary’s, were called to the scene at approximately 11:30 pm on Wednesday. The fire reportedly erupted in a cell located in the “B” Wing of the prison.
