Blaze Erupts at Luxury Berkshire Hotel
Firefighters in Mortimer, Berkshire, raced to tackle a massive fire that tore through the Wokefield Park Hotel last night.
The inferno broke out around 5.30pm in a ground-floor linen room before spreading rapidly to the roof. Flames soon engulfed two more parts of this sprawling estate.
Historic Hotel in Flames
Wokefield Park isn’t just any hotel. It boasts an 18th-century building alongside a sleek modern executive centre. The property sits on a huge 250-acre estate, complete with a championship golf course.
Massive Fire Response
Emergency crews responded fast, with twelve fire engines initially dispatched to the scene near Mortimer. Efforts to control the blaze are ongoing.
