Five people have tragically lost their lives in two separate house fires in London within a 24-hour period. The deadly incidents occurred during the early hours of May 24 and May 25, according to reports from the Metropolitan Police and London Fire Brigade.

Just over 24 hours later, a second fatal fire occurred at a semi-detached house on Coulsdon Road at 1:38 AM on May 25.
Fire crews from Purley, Wallington, and Croydon arrived to find the first floor and part of the ground floor ablaze. A 77-year-old man was rescued from the first floor but was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
The cause of the Coulsdon fire is currently under police investigation, and no arrests have been made.
