A 19-year-old Londoner has been slammed with multiple robbery charges following a viral video showing a man being struck with a trouser belt at a Leicester student block.
Brutal Attack Caught on Camera
Richile Vangu, from Bowes Road, New Southgate, appears in footage that has sparked outrage online. The video shows a victim being hit with a belt and forced to transfer money from his bank account.
Two Raids in One Night
- The first attack happened on November 21 at The Tannery, student accommodation on Bath Lane, Leicester.
- Later that evening, a group of men visited another address 13 miles away in Harborough District, demanding money transfers and designer clothes.
Nine Charges and More Trouble
Leicestershire Police revealed Vangu is charged with nine counts of robbery — four linked to Bath Lane and five connected to Harborough. He also faces a charge of intentional suffocation.
He appeared at Leicester Magistrates’ Court on Saturday and will face further proceedings.
