Police have hauled in a lorry driver after a tragic crash on the M20 claimed the life of a “wonderful” dad-of-two, described as a “pillar of the community.”
Crash Claims Life of Ashford Dad, 36
Arran McManus, 36, was driving his black Nissan Qashqai when it slammed into two lorries—a white Scania articulated and a white MAN—on the London-bound M20 near Lenham.
Emergency crews rushed to the scene between junctions 9 and 8 early Tuesday morning. Sadly, Arran was pronounced dead at the scene.

Family Mourns ‘Soulmate’ and ‘Best Friend’
Arran’s devastated partner Ashleigh Devlin paid a heartfelt tribute:
“I am heartbroken to share that on Tuesday morning, Arran, my partner, my soulmate, and best friend, was sadly taken too soon from us. He was the most wonderful dad to our two incredible children, and he loved them deeply. Arran will be sorely missed by his entire family circle.”
She added Arran was a dedicated football coach and a valued member of the executive team at Kennington Football Club, describing him as a “pillar of the community.”
Lorry Driver Arrested, Police Investigate
Kent Police confirmed a 57-year-old man, believed to be the driver of the MAN lorry, has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. He remains hospitalised in a stable condition.

M20 Chaos and Emergency Response
The motorway was shut for hours after the multi-vehicle collision. At least 10 ambulances, six police cars, and 11 fire engines were spotted at the scene. The coastbound carriageway was also temporarily closed to allow an air ambulance to land.
