West Midlands Police have charged a man with possession of a firearm and ammunition in connection with a stabbing incident in Shard End. The investigation is ongoing as authorities work to piece together the events leading up to the violent disorder.
Syed Kashaff, 22, was arrested on Wednesday following the incident that occurred on Monday on Heath Way. The victim, a 27-year-old man, was discovered outside a shop with multiple stab wounds and was promptly taken to the hospital, where he remains in a stable condition.
Kashaff was formally charged yesterday and is scheduled to appear before magistrates in Birmingham today. During the investigation, police recovered a firearm and ammunition, further intensifying the seriousness of the charges.
Detective Inspector Tom Lyons from the Major Crime Unit commented on the ongoing investigation: “We are continuing our investigation to establish the details around what happened. CCTV enquiries are ongoing and we are speaking with a number of witnesses. I would urge anyone with information to get in touch as soon as possible.”
