Man Dies Following Medical Emergency Outside Sydenham Primary School – UKNIP

A man has tragically died following a medical emergency that occurred outside a primary school in Sydenham late this morning.

Emergency services were called to Sydenham Road, near Our Lady and St Philip Neri Primary School, at around 11:20 AM today (April 11) after reports of a man experiencing a medical incident.

The London Ambulance Service responded swiftly, deploying ambulance crews, paramedics in fast response cars, and an advanced paramedic practitioner. Despite their efforts, the man was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

A spokesperson for the London Ambulance Service confirmed:

“We were called at 11.20am this morning (Friday 11 April) to reports of a medical incident in Sydenham Road, SE26.
We sent resources to the scene, including ambulance crews, paramedics in fast response cars and an advanced paramedic practitioner.
Our crews treated a man at the scene. Sadly, despite the best efforts of emergency responders, he died.”

Metropolitan Police officers also attended the scene. A cordon was put in place on Sydenham Road while emergency services dealt with the incident. The road remains closed and it is currently unclear when it will reopen.

The identity of the man and the cause of the medical emergency have not yet been confirmed. The Metropolitan Police have been contacted for further information.

The incident occurred in close proximity to a primary school, although there is no suggestion that the school or its pupils were directly involved.
