Man Dies After Medical Emergency Outside Sydenham Primary School
Tragedy Strikes Near Our Lady and St Philip Neri School
A man has tragically lost his life following a sudden medical emergency outside Our Lady and St Philip Neri Primary School in Sydenham.
The incident happened on Sydenham Road at around 11:20 AM on Friday, April 11. Witnesses reported seeing the man collapse near the school, prompting a swift call to emergency services.
Emergency Services Rush to the Scene
The London Ambulance Service responded immediately, dispatching ambulance crews, paramedics in fast response cars, and an advanced paramedic practitioner. Despite their rapid intervention and best efforts, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

We sent resources to the scene, including ambulance crews, paramedics in fast response cars and an advanced paramedic practitioner. Our crews treated a man at the scene. Sadly, despite the best efforts of emergency responders, he died.”
Road Closure and Police Response
Metropolitan Police officers arrived shortly after and set up a cordon on Sydenham Road to allow emergency services to work uninterrupted. The road remains closed, and there is no word yet on when it might reopen.
