A man in his 60s was rushed to hospital yesterday afternoon with life-threatening injuries following a violent altercation outside the Canterbury Arms pub in Walworth.
Emergency Crews Called to the Scene
Police and ambulance crews responded just after 1pm on Thursday, 20 November, to reports of a serious injury on Maddock Way, Brandon Estate, Southwark. Officers found the man badly hurt and treated him at the scene before rushing him to the hospital.
A Met Police spokesperson confirmed: “It’s believed the man was involved in an altercation prior to sustaining his injuries.” No arrests have been made yet, and investigations are ongoing.
Area Remains Cordoned Off as Police Probe Continues
Eyewitnesses reported that the area outside the pub stayed cordoned off well into Friday morning, with over ten officers still conducting inquiries at lunchtime.
The London Ambulance Service said: “We were called at 1pm on 20 November to reports of an unwell person in Maddock Way, SE17. Two ambulance crews, a paramedic in a fast response car, an advanced paramedic, and an incident response officer attended. The patient was treated at the scene and taken to hospital as a priority.”
