Met Police Arrest Man in Golders Green Over Suspected Hate Crime Incident

A man has been arrested on suspicion of a racially aggravated public order offence after an incident in uk/where/golders-green/">Golders Green on Sunday evening.

Metropolitan Police officers were called to Golders Green Road at 5:30 PM following reports of a man acting erratically, attempting to punch passers-by and shouting in Arabic outside Jewish-owned businesses.

Police Swiftly Respond

Officers quickly arrived at the scene and conducted a search of the area. With the support of local residents and partners, they apprehended a suspect nearby.

Authorities have confirmed that they are not looking for any other individuals in connection with the incident.

Incident Being Treated as a Hate Crime

At this stage, no injuries have been reported, but police have classified the incident as a potential hate crime.

A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said:
“We take incidents of hate crime extremely seriously and will continue working closely with the community to ensure public safety.”

Appeal for Information

Police are urging witnesses or anyone with information to come forward by calling 101 or contacting Crimestoppers anonymously at 0800 555 111.
