A Metropolitan Police officer has been dismissed without notice following a misconduct hearing that found he had assaulted and threatened a woman he knew on multiple occasions while off duty.
The panel concluded that his conduct constituted gross misconduct, leading to his immediate dismissal from the force.

“Disgraceful Behaviour”

Chief Superintendent Stuart Bell, from the East Area Command Unit, condemned Mascia’s actions:

“PC Mascia’s behaviour was disgraceful and fell far below the standards expected of Metropolitan Police officers. The panel found that it amounted to gross misconduct, and he has been immediately dismissed.”

Banned from Policing Roles

Following the ruling, Mascia will be added to the College of Policing’s barred list, which prohibits him from working for any UK police force, local policing body, the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC), or His Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabulary and Fire and Rescue Services (HMICFRS).

The Metropolitan Police said it remains committed to maintaining high standards and will continue to take strong action against officers who breach public trust.
