Working with Border Force, a number of parcels containing a combined total of around four kilos of cannabis were recovered in December 2022. As part of the investigation, a 40-year-old woman from Margate was arrested on Thursday 5 January 2023 on suspicion of importing a controlled drug and possessing drugs with intent to supply. A property in the town was searched the same day, resulting in officers seizing boxes and bags filled with cannabis. An estimated two kilos of the class B drug was recovered. Sealable plastic bags and other items believed to be linked to drug dealing were also found. The woman has been bailed until a date in April pending further enquiries. Anyone involved in the supply of illegal drugs by post, as a dealer, user or who assists in the process in any way, should know they face arrest, prosecution and a possible custodial sentence.
