Police and paramedics rushed to a residential property on Palmerston Road, NW6, after concerns were raised for the welfare of a man.

The emergency call came in at 15:16hrs, prompting a swift response from Metropolitan Police officers and the London Ambulance Service.

On arrival, a man in his 30s was discovered suffering from stab wounds. He received urgent medical treatment at the scene before being taken to hospital.

Injuries believed self-inflicted

At this stage of enquiries, police believe the injuries are self-inflicted. The man remains in hospital in a serious condition, though his wounds are not thought to be life-threatening or life-changing.

A police cordon is currently in place at the property while officers continue their enquiries.

Police statement

A Met Police spokesperson said:

“At 15:16hrs on Monday, 1 September, officers were called to Palmerston Road, NW6, following concerns for the welfare of a man. A man in his 30s was found with stab injuries. At this stage the injuries are believed to be self-inflicted. He has been taken to hospital with serious but not life-threatening or life-changing injuries. A scene remains in place.”
