The Metropolitan Police have launched an appeal for witnesses and information following a fatal shooting on Wells Park Road in Sydenham, SE26, on the morning of Sunday, November 10.
No arrests have been made so far, and investigations are ongoing. Commander Peter Stevens expressed concern over the incident: “I know people will be shocked by this senseless act of violence, especially on a Sunday morning in a residential area. I share their concerns and can assure the local community that the Met’s response has been rapid.”

Commander Stevens confirmed that additional officers, including forensic experts, will be present in the area, with police cordons likely to remain in place as investigations continue. “A number of people have already contacted us, and we need that flow of information from anyone who saw or heard anything of note to continue. We also need to hear from anyone who has phone, CCTV, or doorbell footage that may help the investigation,” he added.

Anyone with information, witnesses, or relevant footage is urged to contact the police by calling 101 or messaging @MetCC on X, referencing 2527/10nov. Information can also be provided anonymously through the independent charity Crimestoppers.
