A community warning has gone viral after a man was reportedly spotted carrying a large knife in the Hanwell area of West London, prompting a police search and widespread public concern.

According to a post shared on the “Hanwell Friends” Facebook group by resident Thiery Allsop-Menist, the man allegedly followed his wife from Hanwell Station on Wednesday afternoon, claiming he wanted to talk to her. The woman, feeling threatened, entered the nearby Londis store and contacted her husband, who swiftly arrived at the scene.

Mr. Allsop-Menist said he then saw the man and noticed what appeared to be a “large knife in the back of his shorts.” The man reportedly hid the weapon before police were called to the scene. Officers are now said to be searching the area for both the suspect and the hidden knife.
