A 22-year-old thief has landed more than five years behind bars after robbing the same Northampton shop three days in a row. Ayman Ali targeted a store on Clinton Road from December 28 to 30 last year, ramping up his criminal antics each day.

From Sweets to Stabbing Threats: Crime Escalates Fast

Ali’s spree began with petty theft, sneaking into a staff-only area to nick a bottle of Malibu rum, some sweets, and crisps. But by day two, he had escalated dramatically.

  • Leapt over the counter
  • Snatched the till tray filled with cash

On the final day, after a heated row with a cashier, Ali struck again. He crept behind the till and stole money once more. In a strange twist, he briefly posed as a store employee — serving customers, stealing their cash, and even swiping a customer’s mobile phone.

Quick Police Action Snaps Up Armed Robber

Police were soon called to the scene. Ali was quickly identified, arrested, and charged with two counts of robbery, burglary, and possession of a knife. He was also hit with an assault charge after pushing an officer during his arrest.

“Ali pleaded guilty at Northampton Crown Court,” said a spokesperson. “He has now been sentenced to five years and three months in prison.”

The sentencing took place on October 3, bringing a swift end to Ali’s brazen crime spree.
