A 17-year-old boy has been charged with the murder of Yassin Alama, who was fatally stabbed in Handsworth on 16 November, West Midlands Police confirmed.

Arrest Made in Birmingham

The teenager, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was arrested at a property in Birmingham on Sunday. He now faces charges of murder and possession of a bladed article.

He is due to appear before Birmingham Magistrates’ Court today.

Another Man Released on Bail

An 18-year-old man, initially arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender, has been released on bail.

Police Appeal for Information

Yassin’s family have been informed of the latest developments and continues to receive support from specialist officers.

Detectives are urging anyone with information about the fatal stabbing to come forward. Call 101 quoting log 3135 of 16 November.
