Kent Fire and Rescue Service rushed to the scene of a vehicle fire on the M20 London-bound carriageway, between Junction 8 and 9 in Maidstone, earlier today.
The incident, which occurred around 11:03 AM, prompted a swift response from emergency services. Two fire engines were dispatched to tackle the blaze, accompanied by personnel equipped with breathing apparatus and high-pressure hose reel jets.
Despite the intensity of the fire, firefighters successfully extinguished the flames, bringing the situation under control by 12:00 PM. Fortunately, no injuries have been reported in connection with the incident.
In addition to Kent Fire and Rescue Service, partner agencies including the British Transport Police" target="_blank" rel="noopener" data-wpil-monitor-id="11219">British Transport Police and National Highways traffic officers were on-site to assist with traffic management and ensure the safety of all road users.
The cause of the vehicle fire remains under investigation, and motorists are advised to exercise caution and patience while traveling through the affected area
