In a sombre turn of events that has rocked Wolverhampton, a 12-year-old boy has admitted to carrying a machete at the scene of a killing in the city, although he, alongside another boy of the same age, has pleaded not guilty to the murder charge. The victim, 19-year-old Shawn Seesahai, tragically lost his life last November on Stowlawn playing fields in East Park, where he was discovered with fatal stab wounds.

The two accused youths, whose identities are protected due to their age, were brought before Wolverhampton Crown Court on Monday. Under the watchful eye of Mrs Justice Tipples, the court session unfolded with the young defendants addressing only the most essential court formalities – confirming their names and responding to the charges against them.
