Robert Robinson, a 21-year-old local resident, has been named as the victim of a fatal stabbing in Deptford.
Police were called to Carteret Way at approximately 10:35 pm on Thursday, June 6, following reports of a stabbing. Despite the best efforts of emergency services, Robert was pronounced dead at the scene. His family has been informed.
A post-mortem examination conducted on Saturday, June 8, determined that Robert’s cause of death was multiple incised wounds.
Two men have been arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with the incident. One of the suspects, a 50-year-old man, has been bailed pending further enquiries. A 44-year-old man remains in police custody.
The Metropolitan Police investigation is being led by Detective Inspector Neil Tovey, who described the crime as horrific. “This is a horrific crime committed by persons who chose to arm themselves with weapons and blight our communities,” Tovey said. “A young man has died in brutal circumstances and his family are grieving.”
Tovey emphasized the importance of community cooperation in solving the crime. “We need to piece together the events which led to the attack on Robert. The incident took place on a residential street, Carteret Way, at a time when many people are likely to have been at home. I believe the local community hold the key to solving this crime, and any information, it doesn’t matter how small, may assist us in obtaining justice for Robert’s family.”
The Metropolitan Police are urging anyone with information, footage, or images related to the incident to come forward. An online portal has been established where evidence can be uploaded anonymously if desired.

His family has been informed and the man has been identified as 21-year-old Robert Robinson who lived locally.”
