A Chippenham man has been jailed for four years after pleading guilty to beating up his partner regularly over an eight-month period

Gregory Ford, 46, formerly of James Close, pleaded guilty to three counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and criminal damage and was sentenced at Swindon Crown Court on March 23.

Ford’s victim contacted police in December last year when she felt brave enough to report a number of incidents of abuse which had occurred at the couple’s home address, which culminated in her fleeing to safety.
