A Coordinated Police Operation That Resulted In An Arrest And Seizures Highlighted Ongoing Efforts To Disrupt Drug Dealing And Target Those Suspected Of Supplying Drugs

After serving a Misuse of Drugs Act warrant at a flat on Manor Road in Eastwood, officers seized bags of cannabis, as well as cash and mobile phones.

The positive action, which included members of Broxtowe County Operation Reacher and the neighbourhood policing team, was part of an ongoing coordinated campaign to combat drug-related crime and protect the local community from the harm caused by the illegal drug trade.

Proactive focused operations such as this one are evidence of our relentless determination to take action against those making a business out of the supply of drugs in our communities,” said Nottinghamshire Police Inspector Mike Ebbins.

“We will continue to take positive action to keep people safe by making arrests and seizing drugs which will undoubtedly have a disruptive and negative impact on the activities of drug dealers.

“We’re sending a clear message to these people that we will not tolerate this sort of criminality and we will use all powers at our disposal to prevent them from profiting from other people’s misery.

The fight against drug dealing is a local crime priority for Broxtowe due to the issues this brings with it; theft, antisocial behaviour and exploitation of vulnerable people.

I’d like to reassure the public we will continue to do everything in our power to make Eastwood, and the wider Broxtowe borough, a hostile environment for that intent on bringing crime to our communities.

I would urge members of the public to join us in our efforts to remove drug dealers from our streets and enable us to take appropriate action by reporting any suspicions they have to us by calling Nottinghamshire Police on 101 or 999 in an emergency. Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers at 0800 555 111 and provide information anonymously.

Following the execution of the warrant on Friday, a 24-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possessing with intent to supply a Class B drug (13 January 2023). After officers forced entry, rooms were searched and items were seized.

The suspect was later released on conditional bail while officers continued their investigation.
