A Suspect Has Been Arrested After A Pedestrian Was Hit By A Car

Officers were dispatched to Radford Boulevard in Radford after receiving reports of an injured man lying in the street. The man was crossing the street when he was hit by a car that was allegedly being driven recklessly. During the collision, which occurred around 1.25pm on Sunday, he suffered a broken leg and facial injuries (15 January). Soon after, a 59-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving. He was later released on bail. PC “A road collision involving a pedestrian can have devastating consequences for everyone involved, so any report we receive of this nature is obviously very concerning,” said Nicole Bass of Nottinghamshire Police. “Fortunately, the victim didn’t suffer life-threatening injuries in this case, although he did sustain serious injuries that required hospital treatment. “Keeping people in our communities safe is our number one priority as a force, and this pledge very much extends to safety on our roads. There is no excuse for anyone to drive in a dangerous fashion on our streets, and anyone who does this should expect to face consequences. We have now arrested a suspect in connection with this incident, but our inquiries are still ongoing. Anyone who saw what happened or has any dash-cam footage that could assist our investigation should contact the police immediately on 101, quoting incident 300 of 15 January 2023.
