Kent Police was made aware by CCTV operators that a woman had been assaulted while in Pencester Gardens during the late afternoon of Friday 6 October 2023. Patrols attended the scene and made an arrest.

Following an investigation into the incident, Ronnie Bruce, 35, of Dover, was charged with assaulting a woman; intentional strangulation; assaulting an emergency worker by beating; a racially aggravated public order offence, and assaulting a man.
