Caroline Thomson (pictured) was hit several times by another inmate and was left with bruising and cuts to the face. In 2020, Caroline Thomson, of Falkirk was jailed after being pleading guilty to assaulting the baby boy to his permanent impairment, permanent disfigurement and to danger of his life. Despite pleading guilty, Thomson tried to blame a two-year child for some of the injuries. The victim was only weeks old during the multiple attacks in 2018 He cannot speak or walk, but he can crawl. Doctors say an assessment of any long-term damage cannot be made until he is of primary school age. Thomson will now only serve six years instead of nine years following a decision made at the Court of Criminal Appeal in Edinburgh
