Syed Shahreear Ahmed, 37, has been locked up for 15 years after grooming and sexually assaulting six girls aged 13 to 15. The case, heard at england/england/southwark/”>southwark/”>Southwark Crown Court on September 26, exposes a chilling pattern of abuse spanning four years.
Horrific Crimes Spanning 2019 to 2023
The Mossford Lane man used a fake online persona to befriend young girls on social media, then sent indecent images before pushing for face-to-face meetings. Once in person, Ahmed carried out serious sexual assaults.
- First police alert came in May 2023, when a 15-year-old reported being approached on social app Wizz.
- Just days later, a 14-year-old escaped a sexual assault after jumping out of Ahmed’s moving car.
- Four more victims were later identified across five counties, involving Cambridgeshire, Thames Valley, Essex, Kent, and london/" https:>London.
Investigation Uncovers Serial Abuse
Police seized Ahmed’s phones and combed through 500GB of data, revealing horrendous offences. On June 13, 2024, he was found guilty of multiple counts including three rapes of a child, sexual assaults, grooming, and inciting children to engage in sexual activity.
He had already admitted to taking and distributing indecent images of children.
Long Road Ahead for Predator
Ahmed faces 15 years behind bars, followed by five years on licence and mandatory registration as a sex offender for life.
“It is due to the bravery of the girls who came forward that we have been able to achieve this outcome,” said Detective Inspector Peter Harvey from the Metropolitan Police. “Ahmed is a manipulative serial predator, and we remain concerned he may have other victims who have yet to come forward.”
