Brian Guest Jailed for 22 Years on Multiple Sexual Assault Charges

Brian Guest, a 65-year-old man, has been sentenced to more than 20 years in prison after being found guilty of a series of rapes, sexual assault, and indecent assault against women and young girls. The conviction was handed down at Stafford Crown Court on January 23, following a trial that shed light on a harrowing sequence of abuses spanning 37 years.

The crimes came to the forefront in October 2022 when a complaint was made against Guest, prompting a thorough investigation. Victims, including children, displayed immense courage as they came forward to report the heinous acts that occurred in various settings over nearly four decades.

Guest’s trial, held at Wolverhampton Crown Court in June of the previous year, resulted in a guilty verdict. Subsequently, he was sentenced to 22 years in prison at Stafford Crown Court.

Detective Sergeant Nadia Cooper, leading the investigations team, expressed the severity of Guest’s actions, stating, “This was an appalling sequence of abuse in which Brian Guest abused his victims.” She commended the bravery of the survivors, whose testimonies were instrumental in building the case against Guest.

Cooper urged anyone who believes they may have been a victim of sexual abuse in the past to come forward. She stressed that by sharing their stories, survivors not only seek justice for themselves but also contribute to the protection of current and future potential victims.

“We would urge anyone who knows or thinks they were a victim of sexual abuse in the past to contact us and tell us your story,” Cooper asserted. “In doing so, you could secure justice for yourself and others, as well as potentially protecting current or future victims.”
