An investigation has been launched after a buzzard was discovered dead in the North York Moors National Park. The incident occurred near Laskill, Bilsdale, north of Helmsley. The bird is believed to have been killed on Thursday, April 4.

Protected Species Under Threat
Buzzards and all other birds of prey are legally protected by the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981. Intentionally killing or injuring one of these magnificent creatures constitutes a criminal offence. Offenders could face an unlimited fine or up to six months in jail.
Appeal for Witnesses
