Skull-Masked Thug Attacks Elderly Couple in Home Invasion
At around 9.45pm on Wednesday 16 November, a terrifying home invasion unfolded on Leyland Avenue. A man wearing a red and black skull mask forced his way in after the 73-year-old homeowner answered the doorbell.
Knife-Wielding Robber Assaults 71-Year-Old Woman
The masked attacker threatened the elderly couple with a knife, demanding cash. When they claimed they had none, he savagely struck the 71-year-old woman on the head with the knife’s base, repeatedly.
The couple fought back fiercely. The woman tried to open the front door to raise the alarm but was dragged back inside by the assailant. Eventually, the thug fled, stealing a small amount of money.
The elderly woman was taken to hospital for treatment of her head injury.
Suspect Description and Urgent Appeal for CCTV
Police say the suspect is a white male in his early 20s, about 5ft 8ins tall, with fair hair and pale skin. He wore dark slim trousers, a dark jacket with a hood, thin gloves, and a distinctive red/black skull Halloween mask. Witnesses report he spoke with a local accent and a deep voice.
