Former Southampton Football Coach faces 65 Sex Charges against Children

A former Southampton Football Club coach has been charged with historical child abuse offences Police have revealed. Police have just confirmed that ex-Southampton FC Youth Development coach, Robert Francis Higgins, has been charged with a number of indecent assault offences as part of an investigation into historical child abuse within the football community. These offences relate to allegations involving teenage boys which happened in the 1980s and 1990s. The 64-year-old is due to appear at Southampton Magistrates’ Court on 20th July. Bob Higgins of Litchfield Road, Southampton, has been charged with 65 counts of indecent assault. Hampshire Constabulary said the offences related to allegations involving 23 teenage boys dating back to the 1980s and 90s.
