In a significant and deeply troubling development, Greater Manchester Police (GMP) officer PC Dean Dempster, 34, who was assigned to GMP’s Oldham district, has been charged with sexual assault on a child under 13 and misconduct in a public office. These grave charges were formally brought forth on Sunday, December 31, 2023, following an extensive investigation conducted by GMP.
PC Dean Dempster has been remanded into custody and is currently awaiting legal proceedings. He is scheduled to appear before the Manchester and Salford Magistrates Court on Monday, January 1, 2024, where the charges will be formally addressed, and the legal process will begin.
