In a chilling revelation at a murder trial in Nottingham Crown Court, a pathologist testified that Shawn Seesahai, the victim of a fatal machete attack, succumbed to a 23cm-deep stab wound that nearly traversed his entire body. Dr Charlotte Randall detailed the gruesome extent of the injury, explaining how the weapon pierced Mr Seesahai’s back, ribs, lung, heart, and chest cavity, inflicting catastrophic damage.
According to Dr. Randall, the fatal wound penetrated through multiple vital organs, including the heart, before lodging within the muscle of the chest wall. The pathologist described the degree of force required to inflict such an injury as at least moderate, emphasizing the severity of the assault. She asserted that Mr. Seesahai’s death would have occurred rapidly, within seconds to minutes, following the infliction of the wound.
