A Maidstone drug dealer who accepted Pokémon trading cards as payment for drug debts has been jailed for more than three years.
Jack Young-Larter, 26, of London Road, was sentenced to three years and four months in prison after admitting offences involving the supply of cocaine and cannabis.
Police investigating drug dealing in Maidstone executed a search warrant at Young-Larter’s home on May 1, 2026.
Officers detained him and seized two mobile phones, almost 110g of cannabis and more than 25g of cocaine, together with weighing scales and empty deal bags.
Around £2,000 in cash and a box containing rare collectable cards believed to be of significant value were also recovered.
The cash and cards have been made subject to a Deprivation Order and will not be returned to Young-Larter.
Videos showed dealer stashing drugs
Examination of his mobile devices uncovered messages consistent with the marketing and supply of cocaine and cannabis.
Police also discovered videos Young-Larter had filmed of himself hiding packets of drugs at locations for customers to collect.
Messages revealed customers paid him through cash and bank transfers, while Pokémon trading cards were also accepted as payment.
Young-Larter was charged with being concerned in the supply of cocaine, being concerned in the supply of cannabis and possessing criminal property in relation to the cash and trading cards.
He pleaded guilty to all charges and appeared at Maidstone Crown Court on Thursday, September 17, for sentencing.
Investigating officer Detective Constable Emily Hill said: “Young-Larter is rightly serving time behind bars for selfishly taking advantage of vulnerable members of the Maidstone community for his own financial gain.”
She added: “Trading Pokémon cards is a fun activity for all ages, but substances are dangerous; they destroy communities, and – in the worst cases – leave friends and families bereft.
“So, when it comes to those dealing drugs on Kent’s streets, our officers are on a mission to catch them all.”
