Man Charged After Nine-Year-Old Girl Killed in Bexleyheath Bus Collision

A man has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving following a tragic collision in Bexleyheath last summer that resulted in the death of a nine-year-old girl.

Charges Against Bus Driver

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police’s Roads and Transport Policing Command have charged 23-year-old Martin Asolo-Agogua, of Nunhead, with:

  • Causing death by dangerous driving
  • Causing death by careless driving while under the influence of drink or drugs
  • Driving whilst over the drug limit

The charges were formally made on Thursday, 13 February.

Fatal Collision in Watling Street

Police were called to Watling Street, near the junction with Halcot Avenue, on the morning of Saturday, 3 August 2024, after a bus collided with two children.

Both children were rushed to hospital, but despite medical intervention, nine-year-old Ada Bicakci tragically died on Monday, 5 August.

Ada’s family is being supported by specialist officers as they continue to grieve their devastating loss.

Arrest and Court Proceedings

Asolo-Agogua, who was driving the bus at the time, was arrested on the day of the incident on suspicion of causing serious injury through dangerous driving and drug-driving.

He has been bailed and is scheduled to appear at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 24 March.

Ongoing Investigation

The case remains under police investigation, and officers are urging any witnesses or those with dashcam footage from the area on the morning of 3 August 2024 to come forward.
