Bus driver charged with causing death of nine-year-old girl in Bexleyheath crash
Bus Driver Faces Serious Charges
A 23-year-old bus driver has been charged following a tragic collision that killed a nine-year-old girl in Bexleyheath last summer. Martin Asolo-Agogua, from Nunhead, now faces charges including:
- Causing death by dangerous driving
- Causing death by careless driving while under the influence of drink or drugs
- Driving over the drug limit
The charges were formally laid on Thursday, 13 February by detectives from the Metropolitan Police’s Roads and Transport Policing Command.
Fatal Crash on Watling Street
On the morning of Saturday, 3 August 2024, emergency services were called to Watling Street near the junction with Halcot Avenue after a bus collided with two children. Both were rushed to hospital, but despite desperate medical efforts, nine-year-old Ada Bicakci died on Monday, 5 August.
Specialist officers are supporting Ada’s grieving family as the community reels from the devastating loss.
Arrest and Upcoming Court Date
Asolo-Agogua was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing serious injury through dangerous driving and drug driving. He was later bailed and is due to appear at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 24 March.
Police Appeal for Witnesses
The investigation remains ongoing. Police urge anyone who witnessed the crash or has dashcam footage from the morning of 3 August to come forward.
