A 53-year-old man caught red-handed dealing cocaine out of his car in Rugby has been jailed for three years.
Spotlight on Oxford Street Sting
In December last year, police on patrol spotted a suspicious vehicle cruising down Oxford Street, Rugby. After witnessing what appeared to be a drug deal, officers quickly swooped and arrested the driver.
Caught with Cocaine, Cash, and Deal Phones
The man, identified as Arian Varfaj, was searched along with his car. Police recovered cocaine, cash, and mobile phones used for drug dealings.
Varfaj, who has no fixed address, was charged with being involved in the supply of class A drugs and was held in custody.
Jail Time for Tough Crime Crackdown
He pleaded guilty and on 6 March was sentenced at Warwick Crown Court to 39 months behind bars.
Detective Constable Matthew Rapkins said: “These toxic drugs bring poverty, misery and crime wherever they go. We are constantly out across the county on plain-clothed patrols and we will continue to target anyone who is willing to sow misery and harm in their community.”
