A WOMAN’s body has been found by a private member’s club as a murder investigation is launched with one man arrested.
Police and forensics are scouring the River Thames for evidence while the 44-year-old man remains in custody.

There is an increased police presence in the area and the club has closed until further notice, according to their website.
Detective Inspector Rob Underhill, said: “The investigation is still in its early stages; however, an arrest has been made, and we are not seeking anyone else in connection with the incident. I want to reassure the community that there is no risk to the wider public.

“Members of the public are likely to see an increased police presence while we continue to investigate, and we would advise anyone with any concerns to please speak to one of our uniformed officers.”
Detective Inspector Rob Underhill, said: “We are continuing our murder investigation after officers were called to Phyllis Court Drive, Henley-on-Thames at around 7.50am on Friday (6/3) following the death of a woman.
“The woman’s next of kin have been informed and our thoughts are with them at this difficult time.
“Formal identification has not yet taken place as such we are not in a position to identify the victim at this time.

“A 44-year-old man from Henley-on-Thames arrested on suspicion of murder remains in police custody and an extension for further detention has been sought and granted.
“A scene watch remains in place and is likely to continue into early next week, we would like to thank members of the public for their patience while our enquiries are ongoing.
“Members of the public will see an increased police presence and we would ask anyone with any concerns to raise them to our officers.
