Pair Jailed for Imprisonment and Torture of Two Women in Birmingham

  A man and a woman have been jailed after subjecting two women to shocking abuse and torture in a harrowing case described by police as “truly horrific.”  

Detectives later uncovered a second victim who suffered a separate but equally disturbing five-hour ordeal at the hands of both Coley and Khan. During the attack, the woman was also forced to drink bleach, eat cat food and was urinated on. She sustained multiple injuries, including a broken eye socket. An extensive investigation led to Coley’s arrest. She was charged and later found guilty of multiple offences including grievous bodily harm with intent, administering a toxic substance, actual bodily harm, and false imprisonment. She also pleaded guilty to burglary and an additional charge of assault occasioning actual bodily harm. She was sentenced to 18 years in prison. Khan, of Barrows Road, Birmingham, initially evaded arrest, leading police to launch a public appeal via social media, the force website and Crimestoppers. The appeal gained significant attention, and Khan eventually handed himself in to authorities. He pleaded guilty to grievous bodily harm with intent, two counts of administering poison with intent to endanger life, and burglary. He was sentenced to 15 years behind bars. Detective Constable Victoria McNulty, from West Midlands Police’s Exploitation Team, said:

“This was a case of truly horrific physical and psychological abuse inflicted on two vulnerable women over an extended period. What they endured was utterly inhumane and dehumanizing. Both victims suffered severe physical and emotional trauma, and they continue to rebuild their lives with lots of support. I am in awe of their bravery and strength throughout this process. I hope knowing that these violent individuals are now behind bars for many years brings them some sense of justice and allows them to begin healing.”
