Crosby Man Arrested for Pretending to Be Doctor

In a distressing incident, a man sustained a serious head injury during an assault in Waterloo on Merseyside in the early hours of today, Sunday, January 28. Authorities are appealing for information to aid their investigation into the incident.

At 12.55am, officers responded to a call reporting that a man in his 30s had been punched to the head during an altercation that initiated inside Parnell’s on South Road and spilled outside. The force of the punch caused the victim to fall to the ground, striking his head on the pavement. He was promptly taken to the hospital and currently remains in critical condition.

The suspected assailant is described as a white male in his 60s, with short grey hair, wearing glasses, and dressed in dark clothing. A comprehensive investigation is underway to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the assault, and a forensic examination of the scene has been completed.

Merseyside Police have conducted inquiries at neighbouring businesses and are actively pursuing leads through CCTV footage in the area. Detective Inspector Andrew Schofield condemned the violence, stressing that such acts have no place on the streets of Sefton or anywhere in Merseyside.

South Road, known for its bustling activity on Saturday nights, prompts the police to seek witnesses who may have observed the incident or identify the description of the offender. Detective Inspector Schofield urged anyone with information, no matter how small, to come forward.
