Man Left with Serious Head Injury in Waterloo Assault

A man suffered a severe head injury after an early-hours assault in Waterloo, Merseyside, today, Sunday, January 28. Police have launched an urgent appeal for witnesses to come forward and help crack the case.

Suspect Description Released

The attack happened just before 1am on South Road, a busy nightlife spot in Sefton. The suspect is described as a white male in his 60s, with short grey hair and glasses, wearing dark clothes. Officers have completed a forensic sweep of the scene as they piece together what happened.

Police Hunt for Witnesses and CCTV Leads

Merseyside Police are scouring nearby businesses and reviewing CCTV footage. Detective Inspector Andrew Schofield slammed the violence, saying it “has no place on the streets of Sefton or anywhere in Merseyside.”

“We urge anyone with any information, no matter how small, to come forward,” said DI Schofield.
