Detectives are appealing for witnesses after a man was stabbed outside a shop on High Street, Gillingham, on Friday, 27 December 2024.
The incident occurred around 8:40 p.m., shortly after the victim parked his car near the Canterbury Street junction. As he exited his vehicle, he was reportedly attacked by an unknown suspect who was accompanied by a female.
Emergency services, including police and ambulance crews, attended the scene, and the victim was taken to the hospital with a chest injury. Fortunately, he has since been discharged.
Later that evening, a 17-year-old boy from Gillingham was arrested in connection with the attack. He has been released on bail with conditions as the investigation continues.
Detectives are urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has information to come forward.
A spokesperson for Kent Police said:
“This was a serious assault, and we are working to establish the full circumstances. We are particularly keen to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time or who may have CCTV or dashcam footage.”
