Tewkesbury mum-of-10 jailed for 13 years over horrific teen captivity
“House Slave” Endured 25 Years of Brutal Abuse
Amanda Wixon has been locked up for 13 years after holding a vulnerable teenager prisoner in her home for over two decades. The victim, taken in at just 16 in 1996, was trapped until 2021 — forced into relentless domestic slavery.
She suffered appalling beatings, starvation, and even had teeth knocked out with a broomstick handle. The court labelled her a “house slave” subjected to a Dickensian nightmare.
Shocking Abuse and £100k Benefits Fraud
Prosecutor Sam Jones revealed the victim “disappeared into a black hole,” never seen outside and only washing secretly at night. Wixon’s cruelty crushed the girl’s spirit and left deep psychological scars, the judge said.
Worse, Wixon raked in more than £100,000 in benefits fraudulently claimed in the victim’s name. Judge Ian Lawrie KC slammed Wixon’s “extremely serious” crimes and refusal to accept responsibility.
Victim Fighting Back After Years of Hell
Now in her mid-40s and needing 24-hour care due to neglect, the victim is showing incredible strength. She’s back at college and even taking holidays abroad, determined to rebuild her life.
Wixon must serve at least two-thirds of her sentence behind bars for this shocking abuse case.
