Teacher Charged with Over 30 Sexual Offences Against Children
Ben Breakwell, 39, from Monkgate, York, faces more than 30 serious sexual offence charges. The former Hammersmith schoolteacher is accused of crimes spanning five years.
Shocking Allegations from Teaching Years
Breakwell stands charged with four offences related to taking or making indecent images of children. The other 32 charges involve alleged sexual activity with three girls aged between 13 and 16. These incidents are said to have occurred between 2012 and 2017, during his time at the school.
Investigation Led by Specialist Officers
The probe into Breakwell’s conduct began in 2017 and is being handled by expert detectives from the West Area Command Unit. He is scheduled to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 9 March.
Details of Charges
- One charge of sexual assault on a female between 3 April and 1 June 2016.
- 25 counts of an adult engaging in non-penetrative sexual activity with a girl aged 13-15, between October 2014 and September 2017.
- Three charges for causing a female aged 13 or over to engage in non-penetrative sexual activity.
- Two charges of sexual activity with a girl aged 13-17 between January and September 2016.
- Two counts each of taking and making indecent photographs or pseudo-photographs of a child, dated on or before 14 November 2017.
All alleged offences are contrary to the Sexual Offences Act 2003 and the Protection of Children Act 1978.
