Swale’s Community Policing Team officers acted quickly to apprehend a man after a £4,000 chain was reported stolen from a jewellery shop

The theft was reported to have occurred around 10 a.m. on June 25, 2022, when a man entered the shop on Sittingbourne High Street.

While inside, the suspect is said to have tried on a gold chain before fleeing the store while still wearing it.

Following the incident, Kent Police were called, and at 7.50 p.m., a man was arrested in town.

William Brazil, 30, of Sittingbourne’s Barrow Grove, has since been charged with theft.

Mr Brazil was bailed to appear in Medway Magistrates’ Court on July 28 after being charged.
