Teen Jailed for Deptford Murder in Bloody Knife Attack

Jackson Uwagboe, 19, locked up for life after stabbing 21-year-old Robert Robinson over a stolen bike.

Brutal Murder in Deptford

Jackson Uwagboe, 19, from Lewisham, was found guilty at the Old Bailey for the savage murder of 21-year-old Robert Robinson.

The deadly attack erupted after a dispute over a stolen bicycle. Uwagboe was also convicted of robbery and carrying a bladed weapon.

On 18 February, he received a life sentence, with a minimum 21 years behind bars before parole.

Co-Conspirators and the Man Who Tried to Help Him Flee

A co-defendant, 24-year-old Eromosele Omoluogbe, also from Lewisham, was found guilty of perverting the course of justice for booking Uwagboe a pricey £1,129 flight to Nigeria and driving him to Heathrow.

Omoluogbe’s sentencing date is pending.

Two more men, Ryan Wedderburn, 18, and Kirk Harris, 19, were jailed last year for life with minimum terms of 23 and nearly 23 years respectively after being convicted of Robert’s murder.

Detective Praises ‘Relentless’ Police Work

“Today’s verdict brings justice for Robert Robinson and his family. Robert was subjected to a brutal and sustained attack by men armed with knives. His claims of self-defence were completely baseless,” said Detective Inspector Neil Tovey.

“The Robinson family showed immense dignity during this harrowing ordeal. Uwagboe’s flight overseas prolonged their pain and delayed justice.

“Omoluogbe’s conviction sends a clear message: aiding violent offenders comes with serious consequences.

“This case was cracked through hundreds of hours of CCTV, phone data, and witness statements. Knife crime remains a huge concern, and we are determined to hold offenders accountable.”
