A broadcast was made over the Safer Towns Partnership radio network around 4.15pm on Monday 30 January 2023, following the theft of several bottles of alcohol from a Waitrose store.

The communications hub is linked to shops and businesses throughout town, and it aids in the detection and combat of crime, as well as other issues such as anti-social behaviour. It is also patrolled by constables, and by 4.40pm, a suspect had been apprehended by a responding officer.

Luke Willis, 28, of Shoreham Road, Orpington, was arrested and later charged with two counts of theft, including an alleged incident on 21 December 2022 at a Marks and Spencer store in Sevenoaks. The suspect has been bailed to appear in Sevenoaks Magistrates’ Court on March 2nd.
