Two charged over Southampton Stabbing

Detectives have charged two men following an assault on a man in Derby Road. Police were called at 7.19pm on the Tuesday evening to a report of stabbing. The 25-year-old man suffered serious but not life threatening injuries. Officers have charged both Akbar Ali Islam aged 29-years-old of Denzil Avenue, Southampton and Azad Akhtar Khan aged 42-years-old of Denzil Avenue, Southampton with causing grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of a bladed article in a public place. Both men will appear before Southampton Magistrates Court today (Thursday 26 April). Officers from the Southampton Central Neighbourhood Policing Team continue to patrol the area.
