Woman Charged with Murder of Anthony Marks

An 18-year-old woman has been charged with the murder of Anthony Marks, 51, following an incident in Camden earlier this year.

Mia Campos-Jorge, of Milton Road, Haringey, was arrested on Monday, December 9, on suspicion of murder and charged later the same day. She is set to appear in custody at Willesden Magistrates’ Court today.

The Case

Anthony Marks was assaulted on Whidborne Street, Camden, on Saturday, August 10. He was hospitalized for three days following the attack and subsequently discharged. However, two weeks later, he suffered a seizure and was readmitted to the hospital, where he tragically died on Wednesday, September 25.

The case has been under investigation since Marks’ death, with detectives linking it to the assault in August.

Previous Charges

Campos-Jorge is the fourth person to be charged in connection with the murder.
The other accused include:

  • Harry Gittins, 35, of Regent Square, Camden
  • A 17-year-old boy (name withheld for legal reasons)
  • A 17-year-old girl (name withheld for legal reasons)

All three are currently remanded in custody and awaiting trial.

Next Steps

Police have confirmed that their investigation into the case remains active. Campos-Jorge’s court appearance is expected to provide further details on the timeline and specifics of the case.

Detectives continue to appeal for any witnesses or information related to the incident. Those with information can contact Metropolitan Police or remain anonymous by contacting Crimestoppers.

Community Impact

The incident has sparked concern in the Camden community, with local leaders urging residents to cooperate with authorities as the case progresses. A vigil for Anthony Marks was held earlier this year to honor his memory and call for justice.

Updates on the proceedings will follow.
