Fire Crews Called to Jack Knife Lorry in Portsmouth

Fire Crews stationed at Cosham have been called to an incident in Farlington this lunchtime (Thursday April 26th). Crews were called to the eastbound carriageway of the A27 after a large goods vehicle jacked knifed across two lanes of the busy road. Fuel from the vehicle started to leak on to the carriageway. Firefighters used environmental protection packs to seal off a near by drain and to soak up the spillage. No one has been injured as a result of the jack knifing. Officers from Hampshire and Isle of Wight Roads Policing have put in hard closures of two lanes near the incident to assist with the recovery by Police contractors. Police officers dealing with the incident at the scene have advised to expect considerable delays. They are also appealing for drivers who witnessed the incident or may have captured the incident on dash camera to contact them by calling Hampshire Police on 101.referring to incident 319 of today’s date.
