Pedestrian hit by Bus in Southampton
A person has been rushed to hospital after being hit by a bus in Southampton. Police have closed off Pound Tree road in Southampton after bus was in collision with a pedestrian just after 12am. The pedestrian has been taken to Southampton General Hospital with a serious head after colliding with the bus as it turned into Vincent’s Walk from Pound Tree Road. The woman was airlifted by the air amublance to hospital. The driver of the number seven first bus a man is 40’s was uninjured and has give. His first account to Police. He has not been arrested. It is has been claimed that the woman is who is believed to be from overseas was on her phone not paying attention when she crossed the road. The collision involved a bus and a female pedestrian. The woman has been take to hospital. Pound Tree Road is currently closed at the junction with Vincents Walk, which may disrupt bus services. https://youtube.com/watch?v=KCeLTd0LK8w&feature=youtu.be Inspector Darren Ord from Hampshire Roads Policing said that the woman is in a serious but her injuries are now being treated as non life threatening South Central Ambulance service confirmed a woman in her 40s was treated and they sent an ambulance crew, a rapid response vehicle and the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance.
